Milton D. McKaughan

San Benito, TX:
Milton Donald (Don) McKaughan, 83, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at his home in San Benito with his two daughters and son-in-law by his side.  He was born on November 15, 1928 in San Angelo, Texas to Lou Edgar and Louise Ann (McNabb) McKaughan.
His parents preceded him in death as well as his wife of 57 years, Patsy Ann Pyle McKaughan.  His brothers and sisters also preceded him in death and they were Mickey McKaughan, Myrlos Waters, Dwight Stockton, Whitey Price, Olivia McKaughan Price, Avo McKaughan Barker, Edna McKaughan Joiner and Gladys Azell McKaughan.
Don was a patient gentle man with his two daughters, Linda McKaughan Speaker (Tom) and Donnelle McKaughan Hancock (David); his quite strength was a great example for his three grandchildren; Katy Hancock Bircher (Dan), Kevin Don Speaker (Angela) and Jacob Hancock who blessed him with six great grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Clara, Alana, Anna, Joshua and Rebekkah.  He is survived by his brothers and sisters; Gary Pyle (Betty), Leslie Rhodes, Jolene Rhodes, June Waters, Barbara Waters and Nora McKaughan and close longtime friends; Jimmy Donaldson, Genita Donaldson, and Helen Stockton.  Every one of his eleven nieces and nephews had a special place in his heart.  He loved his church family at 8th & Harrison Church of Christ in Harlingen.  He was a wonderful example of a Christian man.
Don remembered his youth as fishing and swimming in the Concho River in San Angelo.  Don married the love of his life, Patsy Ann on July 27, 1950.  He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.  He then worked at Welch’s Chevrolet in San Benito and Tip O Tex Chevrolet in Brownsville for many years.  He enjoyed his retirement traveling with his wife Pat and going to Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 2:30 PM, Saturday, April 7, 2012.  The family will receive friends before the services beginning at 1:30 PM till service time at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons, nephews and great nephews.
The family would like to thank his doctors, nurses on the 4th floor at Valley Baptist Medical Center and the Odyssey Hospice nurses for their wonderful patient care of Don.
