Milton was born February 10, 1923 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Herbert and Mae Jones.
He moved to the Valley in 1949 to get out of the snow and cold weather of Indiana. Milton began his career as a general repair mechanic with a box of tools and a $3,500 loan to start J & N Auto Air in 1957 in Harlingen. Milton was the president of J & N Auto Air, which he grew to three locations in South Texas, Harlingen, Corpus Christi and McAllen, where his three sons, Phil, Malcolm and Ebon now actively run J & N today.
He was founder of the Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS), an organization that would be inclusive of service installers, promote and present training, and advocate for the entire mobile A/C and engine cooling industry.  Milton was a member of the original HOC committee that formed MACS and was the longest serving board member until his retirement in 2004. He also received the Industry Pioneer Award in 1988 and was an honorary MACS lifetime member.
Milton enjoyed traveling and old cars. In 1963, Milton along with several local businessmen founded a local chapter of the Independent Garage Owners.  Studebakers were a lifelong interest for Milt.  He belonged to the Studebaker Drivers Club International and worked on the repair and restoration of the breed since 1992.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mae Jones; wife of 62 years Ila Van Horn Jones; a brother, James Ewell Jones.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Lou Oliver; sons, Ebon (Alice) Jones, Malcolm (Brenda) Jones and Phil (Linda) Jones; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
