Harlingen, TX – Mike R. Marquez, 69, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Harlingen Medical Center.
Mike was employed with numerous glass companies throughout the Rio Grande Valley as a glassman; he was a professional boxer in the 60’s; he enjoyed fishing and taking trips to Las Vegas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucio and Ursula Marquez; a brother and a sister.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Marie Ebarb Marquez; his children, Michael Marquez, Ronnie Marquez, Elaine Haro, Lisa Rosenman, Shay Marquez, Rhonda Marquez, Miguel Marque Marquez, Marque Miguel Marquez, Maricella Marquez, Miguel Lucio Marquez, Marisol Marquez, Marie Ybarra, Juan Ybarra, Jr., and Joe Lara Marquez; 24 grandchildren, and he was expecting his 1st great grandchild, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
Chapel Service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at San Benito Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Pallbearers will be his sons, grandson, and son-in-law.
