Michael "Mike" Clement Cholick

Michael "Mike" Clement Cholick was 44 years old, living in Rio Hondo, Texas when he passed peacefully in his sleep. He went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2023.

Mike was born in San Benito, Texas, on December 8, 1978. He was the son of Mark Andrew and Kay Cholick, fraternal twin brother of Marcus, and older brother to Stacey. Mike was a graduate of Rio Hondo High School, Class of 1997.

Mike was kind, honest, and fun to be around. He loved being an uncle to two nephews, Gage and Erik, who kept him young. He loved his country music, video games, and Dr. Pepper! Mike was a true Texan who loved his country. Mike belongs to St. Helens Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, where he made many friends. Mike lived with and was cared for by his devoted mother, Kay. Mike was sometimes shy, but he loved you once he got to know you. We will deeply miss his kind nature, friendly smile, and warm soul.

He is preceded in death by his father, Mark A. Cholick.

Mike is survived by his mother, Kay; brother, Marcus (Amanda); sister, Stacey (Christy) Powell; and nephews, Gage and Erik.

Mike’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo. Mike will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony on Good Friday, April 7, 2023 at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to St. Helens Catholic Church, P. O. 451, Box Rio Hondo, Texas 78583.
