Micaela was born on September 29, 1932 in San Benito, Texas to Manuel and Benita Alvarez. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Alvarez and Benita Alvarez and her brothers.
Micaela is survived by her children, Hortencia (Roberto) Salazar, Gloria (Cruz) Sanchez, Micaela (Joe) Martinez, Benita Miranda, Ismael Miranda, Arturo Miranda, Eliza (Steve) Valle; her siblings, Manuel Alvarez, Jr., Anastacia Rodriguez, 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home with the holy rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. The funeral procession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. for a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Andres Martinez, Daniel Ray Mares, Marco Sanchez, Ismael Miranda Jr., Joey Camacho, Ismael Miranda, Jr., Gabriel Camacho and Ernesto Camacho. Honorary pallbearers will be Ismael Miranda, and Arturo Miranda.
