Merle McKay, 85, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Merle was born on April 15, 1923 in Trinidad, Tobago. She had been a resident of Harlingen for the passed 18 years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and an avid reader.
Merle is survived by 7 children; Michelle, Christopher, Patrice, Rene, Janine, Jerome and Rory; 4 brothers, Francis, Valmond, Leroy and Theldon Corbie; 1 sister, Deanna Corbie; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2008 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
