Merejilda H. De La Rosa

Merejilda De La Rosa, 76, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born to Felix Hernandez and Mercedes Acosta Hernandez on March 11, 1944 in Lompoc, California.

In 1983, Merejilda and her husband Juan moved their family from California to Juan’s hometown of San Benito. In San Benito, Merejilda and Juan made a life filled with wonderful memories for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Merejilda will be fondly remembered for being selfless, generous, and loving. Her heart, her home, and her refrigerator were always open to everyone, especially for her pride and joy – her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mejerilda loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan De La Rosa, Sr.; granddaughter, Jamie Marie Mendoza; parents, Felix and Mercedes A. Hernandez; brothers, Robert and Johnny Hernandez; sister, Diana Ramirez.

Left to treasure Merejilda’s memory are her sons, Juan De La Rosa, Jr., Carlos De La Rosa; daughter, Celia (Jaime) De La Rosa Mendoza; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.  Funeral services will conclude Thursday evening.  Merejilda’s family will hold a memorial gathering at a later date.
