SAN BENITO, TX. – Maxine Alexander Dodson, age 99, of San Benito went to be with The Lord Sunday, May 3, 2015.
Maxine was born on September 15, 1915, to Mr. and Mrs. John P. Alexander in Beaumont, Texas who came to San Benito in the early 1920’s.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burford H. Dodson; her daughter, Diane Dodson; her brothers, Jake P. Alexander, Herman Alexander, Pat Alexander; and one sister, Jerre A. Esler.
Maxine leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Donna Dodson; two grandchildren, Deena Strickland Perez (German P.) and Dustin Strickland (Kaylyn); and seven great-grandchildren.
Her sisters are Peggy Graham and Betsy Holbert, as well as many nephews and nieces. Her best friend-like-a-daughter was Patty Guzman.
Maxine was a lifetime member of The First United Methodist Church of San Benito.
Her passion in life was her family, faith, and art. She was an avid porcelain china painter who formed a local club and taught others her art. She also was a skilled artist in many ways.
She was deeply loved by all those that knew her.
Graveside services will take place on Friday May 8, 2015 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Mont Meta Memorial Park, followed by a celebration of life reception at the First Presbyterian Church Hall, 566 North Reagan Street in San Benito, Texas.
