Mavis Ann Brydone, 68, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on June 26, 2011 due to complications of lung cancer.
Mavis was born November 9, 1942 in Watford City, ND to Gordon and Clara Dahl. She graduated from Billings Senior High School in Billings, MT in 1960. Mavis spent her adult life in Anchorage, AK where she met and married Jim Brydone. They celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary April 2011. For the past several years they spent winter months in Harlingen, TX where they enjoyed many close friendships.
Mavis loved her pets, especially her two cats, Lil Bits and Pepe. Her hobbies included shopping, cross-stitching, playing cards and computer games in later years.
Mavis is survived by her husband Jim of Anchorage, AK; brother, Robert (Marjorie) Dahl of Billings, MT; sisters, Marie Dahl of Las Vegas, NV, Marilyn (Jack) Saden of Las Vegas, NV and Michele (John) Holwerda of Plano, TX. She had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. Mavis is also survived by her aunt Nyla Dahl of Watford City, ND.
She was preceded in death by sister, Aletta Christin Dahl and her parents, Gordon and Clara Dahl.
A memorial service will be held in Watford City, ND at a later date to be determined.
Mavis was a breast cancer survivor of 24 years and was a faithful supporter of breast cancer awareness. In lieu of flowers, her family request donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Valley Baptist Foundation at www.valleybaptist.net.
