Mauricio G. Flores, age 91, of San Benito, Texas died Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was born January 28, 1925 in San Benito, Texas, the son of Antonio and Pomposa Flores. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imelda Flores and a son, Xavier Flores.
He was a retired technician for IBM Company. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Queen of Universe Catholic Church and St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas.
He is survived by a son, John Flores of Springdale, Arkansas; a sister, Santos Villarreal of San Benito, Texas; four grandchildren, Kortney Carnes and Christina Hankins both of Prosper, Texas; David Flores and Nicholas Flores both of Phoenix, Arizona; six great-grandchildren, Dalton Carnes, Hadley Carnes, Ansley Carnes, Maebry Hankins, Emilia Hankins and David Flores, Jr.
Visitation will be this evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. With the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of the Universe in San Benito. Burial with military honors will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
