Matilde (Tina) Figueroa Corona

Tina Corona left this world peacefully on January 6, 2019 in San Benito, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus Sr. and Maria Del Consuelo Figueroa; daughters Cynthia and Sandra Lizette Corona; brothers Juan Jose, Jacinto and Javier Figueroa; in-laws Enrique Sr. and Juanita Corona; brother-in-law Alvaro Trevino and sisters-in-law Yvonne Corona and Alejandra (Fela) Hernandez.

Tina was born on May 13, 1959 in Harlingen, Texas and graduated from Rio Hondo High School.  She was a valued employee of Valley Baptist Medical Center for 38 years as an E.R. Clerk, HR Specialist and finally as an Office Coordinator.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband and love of her life of 34 years Arnold Corona; daughters Rebecca C. Fonseca (Hector) and Cristina Iliana Cisneros (Eric).  She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Ethan Isaiah and Raelyn Jade Guerrero, Daniel Matthew Cisneros, Fernando, Christopher, Julie and Jorge Fonseca.  Also surviving her are her siblings Raquel Diaz (Gilbert), Jesus Figueroa Jr. (Maria) and Irma Figueroa.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Ethan Guerrero, Eric Cisneros, Hector Fonseca, Rick Figueroa, Jaime Figueroa and Ray Diaz.  Honorary pallbearers will be Marco Salinas and Christopher Guillen.
