Masao Arthur Koite, Sr.

Masao Arthur Koite, Sr., 95, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, September 28, 2018.  He was born on February 20, 1923 to Tom Koite and Petra Hernandez Koite in Mercedes, TX.

Masao proudly served in the U. S. Navy, Sea Bees, Machinist’s Mate Second Class Division and was a veteran of World War II.

Masao was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katherine Koite; his son, Kean Kenneth Koite, and grandson, Michael.

Left to treasure his memory are his children, Tom (Frances) Koite, Mary (Ramon) Gonzalez, Karen (Rafael) Garcia, Kim (Lorraine) Koite, Masao Arthur Koite Jr., Nellie (John) Gara, Pete (Jessica) Koite and many grandchildren.

The Koite family will be receiving friends and relatives on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in San Benito, TX.  Masao will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
