Mary Anne Meyn

Mary Anne Meyn, 88, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017.

Mary Anne was born and raised in Wichita, KS on May 15, 1929.  She worked as a vocalist for “Corky Edminster’s Corral Gang” at a radio station in Wichita where she eventually became the Women’s Program Director for radio station KANS for six years.  She was a member of the Wichita Press Women and Zonta International while at KANS.

Mary Anne left radio when she moved to Dallas in 1956 and then to New York in 1961.  She taught communications as an elective course at Junior High School in Northport, NY.  She was President of the PTA and a council member during her children’s school attendance.

Mary Anne married, Anthony H. Meyn, Jr. in 1977 after husband, Justin B. Bradshaw passed away in 1974.   She was an active member of the Lutheran Church and for the last several years attended the St. John’s Lutheran Church in San Benito.  As a Lutheran she was active in the Vocal Choir, Bell Choir and Ladies Aid.

She is survived by step-son, Mike (Beverly) Meyn; step-daughters, Pamela (John) Thompson and Toni Lee Cheshire; daughters by guardianship, Wendy Phillips and Susan Andrews; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; brother, Doyle L. Logan, Jr. (Debra) and daughter-in-law, Laurie Bradshaw.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Don; husbands, Justin B. Bradshaw and Anthony H. Meyn, Jr.; mother and father, Mary and Doyle Chisholm; sons, Kevin B. Bradshaw and Thomas M. Bradshaw; and her husband’s brother, David Meyn.

Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in San Benito, 11:00 AM Monday, December 18, 2017 with Rev. Lynn Lubke officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till service time also at the church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Port Isabel Rotary Club.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1000 N. Crockett, San Benito, TX 78586 or to the charity of choice.
