Mary K. Carter, 82, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Mary was born on June 5, 1927 in Dawson, Nebraska to Ephraim and Mary Spaulding. She lived her early years in Dawson and Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1949 she and her husband, Ray moved to Harlingen.
Mary worked at Lewis Electric in Harlingen for over 35 years as a Bookkeeper. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she was a Triple L member. She loved to collect figurines especially ones of ducks, praying hands and shoes.
Mary is survived by sons, Ray Carter, Jr. (Linda) of Harlingen and Robert Carter (Jan) of Harlingen; daughter, Jan LeBleu of Harlingen; brother, Charles Robert Spaulding of Lincoln, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, James Wesley Carter of Dearborn, MI, Melissa Kathleen Russell of Harlingen, James Stephen LeBleu of Harlingen and Allyson LeBleu of Harlingen; 3 great grandchildren, Dylan Ray Russell, Casey Michael Russell and Kennedy Kristine Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray A. Carter, Sr. in 1991.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Graveside services only will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park, 10:00 AM, Friday, July 3, 2009 with the Rev. Brandon Helm officiating.
