San Benito, TX- Martin Montemayor, 56, of San Benito, Texas (La Paloma) passed away peacefully in his sleep and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Harlingen Medical Center.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gilberto Montemayor, Sr.
Martin recently retired from San Benito CISD where he served proudly for 29 years as a mechanic in transportation. He had a passion for hunting and he enjoyed spending time with his family; he was a dedicated son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and will forever be loved and truly missed by all whose heart he touched.
Left behind to cherish his memories is his mother, Paula N. Montemayor; his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Aurora Montemayor; his children, Martin “Marty” Jr. (Vanessa) Montemayor and Alma (Bobby) Domanski; along with his 5 grandchildren who will miss him very much, Alyssa, Tristan, Justin, Kaitlyn, and Kristian; his brothers, Gilberto Montemayor, Jr., Rolando (Monica) Montemayor, Isidro Montemayor, Alejos Montemayor, and Jesus (Claudia) Montemayor; his sisters, Maria Elena (Raul) Contreras, Alicia (Pete+) Hurley, Antonia Montemayor, Gracie (Ismael) Garza, and Norma (Israel) Martinez; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, and uncles whom he adored.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
With honor his pallbearers will be Raul Montemayor, Rolando Montemayor, Jr., Gilbert Montemayor III, Bobby Domanski, Dan Leal, and Rene Leal.
