Martha Wright

January 20, 1942 — March 13, 2017

Martha Wright finished her earthly journey and went to her heavenly home on March 13, 2017. Martha was born in Oklahoma to Joe and Etta Herring on January 20, 1942. The family moved to Harlingen, Texas when she was a young girl. Martha attended Harlingen Schools and later Durham Business College. Her first job was with First National Bank of Harlingen. In 1966 she met and married the love of her life Robert. Later in 1976 she and Robert along with her brother-in law Daniel, started Wright Way Construction which they owned and operated until their retirement in 2005.

Early in life Martha enjoyed traveling to Mexico and Las Vegas with her close friends and family. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with family. Martha was well known for her Thanksgiving spread where everyone was welcome and no one left with an empty stomach. Later in life she enjoyed traveling with her sister Reba to local craft shows and to the Texas Hill country.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Joe and Etta and brothers Jack and Bill (Margie) Herring. Left to cherish her memory are her four children DeeAnna (Ken) Griffin, Marc Wright, Terry (Jimmy) Clifford, Arthur (Daffney) Wright, sister Reba Kratzer and brother in law Dan (Vicky) Wright. She is loved by her grandchildren Courtney Wright, Justin (Smittie) Wright, John (Amy) Wright, Bryce (Kayla) Griffin, Megan Wright (Mike), Alyssa Torres, Ashlyn Wright, Brian Clifford, Michael (Janine) Clifford, Kevin (KeriAnn) Clifford and Christine Clifford. As well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her, but through our beliefs in Jesus Christ we will see her again.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 12 pm to 9 pm with family present from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11 am at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
