Martha Vasquez Reyes

Martha Vasquez Reyes, 80, passed peacefully from this life on July 28, 2020.  She was born to Refugio and Crista Jaramillo Vasquez on February 8, 1940 in Rio Hondo, Texas.

Martha loved to sew and was a very accomplished seamstress.  She enjoyed eating pan dulce, especially empanadas with her coffee.  Her greatest joy was being around her grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Crista Vasquez; siblings, Juanita Igle and Sabas River; and son-in-law, Felipe Gonzalez.

She is survived by the father of her children, Adolfo Reyes; children, Rosalinda Gonzales, Rodolfo (Mari) Reyes, and Esmeralda (David) Cortez; grandchildren, Samuel Reyes, Felipe (Windy) Gonzales, Jr., Martha P. Gonzales, Amanda Moreno, Rolando (Haidee) Villarreal, Jr., Alyssa (Kelly) Brooks; great-grandchildren, Marcos, Marisol, Sergio, Mysti, Cory, Bryan, Jonathan, and Elijah; great great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Keelee, Easton, Thadley, Noah, and Braden.

Martha’s family wishes to thank their friends and relatives for their prayers and comforting words during this difficult time.  Thanks also to Alma Villarreal, hospice supervisor for Life Services Home Health for her compassionate care of Martha.

Visitation will take place at San Benito Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  A committal service will take place on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rolando Villarreal, Jr., Felipe Gonzales, Jr., Sergio Villarreal, Samuel Reyes, and David Cortez.
