Marian Duke LaRoche

Marian Duke LaRoche passed away April 16, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born in 1930 in Harlingen, Texas to Herman and Hattie Duke of Brownsville, Texas.  Marian grew up in Brownsville and lived most of her adult life in San Benito, Texas.  She worked for many years at Farm Bureau in Harlingen while raising three children.  At the age of 63, Marian graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville with a degree in Education.  She then embarked on a rich career as a 5th grade teacher at Rio Hondo ISD.

Marian is remembered by her children, Shawna LaRoche, Terrel LaRoche (wife Cathy), Rheanna LaRoche (husband Matt), as a loving and gentle mother.  She was a cherished grandmother to Graham LaRoche, Kyle LaRoche, Alex Thomas, Jennifer Thomas, Tyler LaRoche, and Cynthia LaRoche-Degyansky.

A family gathering will be held in Marian’s honor in July.

All who Marian touched were aware of her loving kindness and gentle ways.  We are blessed to have known, loved, and learned from her.
