Maria Magdalena (Escamilla) Garza

Maria Magdalena Garza, 94, peacefully passed from this life at a hospital in Katy, Texas.  She was a longtime resident of El Ranchito, Texas before moving to Katy.  She was born to the late Pablo Escamilla and Agapita Leal Escamilla on July 22, 1926 in El Naranjo/San Benito, Texas.

Magdalena was preceded in death by her husband, Rogerio Garza, Jr.; son, Alejandro Garza; and her brothers, Jose Escamilla, Polo Escamilla, and Antonio Escamilla.

She is survived by her son, Rene (Andrea) Garza; daughter, Martha Elda Tutak; grandsons, Rene Rolando (Jessica) Garza, Jr., Greg (Alisha) Tutak, and Alex Garza; granddaughters, Inez Garza, Kathy Mitchell, Vanessa (Jerry) Rosales, and Yvette Garza; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters and four brothers; daughter-in-law Rose Garza.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.  Private interment will follow at Escamilla Cemetery.
