Maria Luisa Covarrubias

María Luisa Covarrubias Ornelas, 70, peacefully passed from this life July 24, 2022. She was born March 15, 1952 to the late Baldomero Ornelas and Rosa Ponce in Mission, Texas.

María Luisa enjoyed gardening, especially planting and tending to her flowers and vegetables. She was a Christian and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to treasure her memory is María Luisa’s husband, Guillermo Covarrubias, Sr.; her children, Guillermo Covarrubias, Jr. (Genoveva), Tomas Covarrubias (Alma), Rosa María Covarrubias, and María Luisa Covarrubias; six grandsons, seven granddaughters, four great-grandsons; her brother, Gustavo Ornelas (María Cruz Lara de Ornelas), and her pet, Foxy.

María Luisa’s family wishes to thank all her loved ones and close friends who offered her support during her illness.

The Covarrubias family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin Friday evening at 6 o’clock.

In lieu of flowers to honor María Luisa, fresh potted plants are welcome.

Services for María Luisa Covarrubias Ornelas will conclude Friday evening.

María Luisa Covarrubias Ornelas, de 70 años, falleció el 24 de julio de 2022. Nació el 15 de marzo de 1952 en Mission, Texas.

Le fascinaba el arte del jardín, especialmente el sembrar y cuidar de sus flores y plantas vegetales. Era cristiana y miembro de la Iglesia del Nazareno.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Baldomero Ornelas y Rosa Ponce de Ornelas.

Le sobreviven su esposo, Guillermo Covarrubias, Sr.; sus hijos, Guillermo Covarrubias, Jr. (Genoveva), Tomas Covarrubias (Alma), Rosa María Covarrubias y María Luisa Covarrubias; seis nietos, siete nietas, y cuatro bisnietos; su hermano, Gustavo Ornelas (María Cruz Lara de Ornelas), y su mascota, Foxy.

La familia de María Luisa desea agradecer a todos sus seres queridos e íntimos amigos que le brindaron su apoyo durante su enfermedad.

La familia Covarrubias recibirá a familiares y amigos el viernes 29 de julio de 2022 de las 13:00 horas a las 20:00 en la funeraria Buck Ashcraft San Benito. Un servicio de oración comenzará el viernes por la noche a las 1800 horas en punto.

Se le invita a honrar a María Luisa con plantas frescas en maceta en vez de ofrendas florales.

Los servicios de María Luisa Covarrubias Ornelas concluirán el viernes por la noche.
