Maria de los Santos de Tovar, passed away to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 23, 2010. Maria was born on October 10, 1920. Her parents were Estanislao de Leon and San Juana Aguilar.
Maria is survived by her children, Ofelia Tovar, Edmond, Oklahoma, Hilda T. Parker (Donald Gene), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Delia T. Hernandez, (Jose Angel) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rosalinda . T. Ramirez, (Isidoro) Harlingen, Texas, Baldemar Tovar, Harlingen, Texas, Marisela T. Galvan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Elida T. Garza, Austin, Texas, Efrain Tovar Harlingen, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Cousins, Argelia Vera, Woodland, Texas and Jose Francisco Valdez, Chicago, Illinois, Jovita Mares, Edinburg, Ramon Esparza, Georgia, Rogelio Esparza, Harlingen, Sobrino Oswald “Baldo” de Leon, Smithville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Tovar Rodriguez.
Maria was a member of the Harlingen Church of Latter Days Saints.
Maria’s family members honored to be serving as her pallbearers are Baldemar Tovar, Efrain Tovar, Christopher Tovar, Freddy Vittonett, and Esteban Cabrera.
Visitation hours will be from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Monday, May 24, 2010 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at the Harlingen Church of Latter Day Saints, 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 25, 2010 with Bishop Carlos Amezquita officiating. Burial will follow Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
