Maria S. Martinez 96, went home to our lord Sunday May 2, 2010 in Harlingen Medical surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed going to TLC Day Care where she enjoyed playing Bingo and talking to her friends. She was an active member of Sacred heart of Jesus and would volunteer to make tamales at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Luciano San Pedro and Ramona Conde San Pedro. Her husband Hilario M. Martinez , her sons Inocencio S. Martinez, Alfonso S. Martinez, Baby Reynaldo Martinez, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sons Alejandro(Cuco)(Fidela)Martinez of San Benito, Reynaldo Martinez of Brownsville, Lorenzo(Sylvia)Martinez of Hereford Tx, daughters Lupe(Arnulfo)Esparza, Rosa(Martin)Zapata, Margarita S. Martinez, Dolores M. Alvarez all of San Benito; 34 grandchildren, 49great grandchildren,15great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Martina Saldana and sister-in-law Petra San Pedro both of San Benito. She is also survived by her good friend and provider Delores G. Gomez of 10yrs also from San Benito.
Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday May 4, 2010 at San Benito Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at St, Teresa Catholic church followed by burial at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
