HARLINGEN, TX. – Maria Guadalupe Saldaña Ramos, born on August 29, 1931 in Hebbronville, Texas, died on Monday, October 26, 2015 at her residence in Harlingen, Texas. She was 84 years old.
Maria worked for JCPenney for many years.
Her parents, Jose Saldaña and Eliza Aldrete Saldaña; sister; two brothers; and loving husband, Servando B. Ramos, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children Anabel (Paul) Gant, Sylvia (Ralph) Cook, Blanca Estela Ramos, Servando B. Ramos, Jr., Isabel R. Mejia, Luis Angel (Mari) Ramos, and Azalia Ramos; sister, Cora Leal; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving her is her pet companion, “Kitty”, whom she loved a lot.
Visiting hours are on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, beginning at three o’clock in the afternoon and concluding at nine o’clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at seven o’clock Tuesday evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel, 1400 West Highway 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.
A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at ten o’clock in the morning. Entombment will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
The family would like to thank her caregiver Linda Zavala, National Nursing and Rehab, and Gentiva Hospice, for the care they provided for Maria.
