La Paloma, TX: Maria Quiroz, 82, of La Paloma, TX passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Briarcliff Nursing and Rehab Center in McAllen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Benita Quiroz.
Maria Luisa is survived by her siblings, Ofelia Quiroz, Ruben Quiroz, Lorenzo D. Quiroz, Rosa Q. Ortiz, Benjamin Quiroz, Eva Q. Schnieder, Juan Quiroz, Samuel Quiroz, Sara Quiroz, Erlinda Q. Dillard, and Lorenzo Quiroz, Jr.; her nieces, Jayme Dowlearn, Reina Wallace, Marlindie Rister, Jennie Thatcher, and Jimmie Warren; her nephew, Jim Thatcher along with many others; and numerous cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the Holy Rosary prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 9:15 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Miguel Angel Ortega officiating. Interment will follow at El Calaboz Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Thatcher, Samuel Quiroz, James Thatcher, Isidro Montemayor, Matt Warren, Daryl Dowlearn, and Daniel Arizmendi.
