Maria Elena Peña

Maria Elena Peña, 68, peacefully passed away on April 15, 2023.  She was born May 12, 1954 to Rodolfo G. and Lydia Perez Peña.

Maria was a graduate of San Benito High School, Class of 1974. She was a cashier at Walmart of San Benito before her retirement.    Maria was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harlingen.

Maria Elena was preceded in death by her father, Rodolfo G. Peña and brother, Arnoldo Peña.

Left to treasure her memory are her mother Lydia Peña; her sister Sylvia Casares; her brother, Ricardo Peña; and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Following the mass, Maria will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
