Maria Dolores Lara Falcon

June 21, 1920 — September 15, 2009

McAllen, TX:
Maria Dolores Lara/Falcon was born Maria Dolores Agado on June 21, 1920 in San Benito, Texas and died on September 15, 2009 in McAllen at the age of 89.  She was married to Aurelio A. Lara, who preceded her in death, and had four boys: Aurelio Leo (Elizabeth) Lara, Jorge A. Lara, Rolando A. Lara, and Jose Luis (Sabrina) Lara.  She was married briefly to Teodoro Falcon, who also preceded her in death, and she loved Gilda Falcon as her own daughter.
She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Aaron A. (Liza) Lara, Michele (Glen) Lara, Naomi Lara, Lisa A. Lara, John L. (Yosita) Lara, Michael Lara, James L. (Christina) Lara, and Jose Roland Lara., and nine great grand children.
“Dolores” was born to Juan Agado and Amalia Garcia Galvan; the sixth child in a family of six boys and six girls. She is survived by siblings: Ignacio Agado, Manuela Garcia, Manuel Agado, Juan Agado, and Amelia Gonzales.
Dolores was devoted to her four sons and whose stated purpose in life was to keep her boys together and living right.  She supported her husband, Aurelio, in continuing a hundred year bakery business tradition which was last known as Raymondville Bakery in Raymondville, Texas and which she passed to two of her children.
Dolores was selfless, hard working, and truly exhibited all the virtues of a true Proverbs 31 woman.  She always tended to the needs of her family and household and her only need was the love and praise of her children who will love her through eternity.
She was mobility impaired  the last seventeen years of her life, but, from her bed and wheelchair, Dolores was a mentor and inspiration for all those who knew her; always winning favor with her positive attitude and words of encouragement.  She devoted these later years to knitting from her bed; weaving and darning dolls, gloves, caps, stocking, and special craft curios for the holidays as gifts, now keepsakes which are beyond value.
Now all of us had a beginning and we will all have an end.  When Saint Paul was remembering his life in 2 Tim. 4:6-10, KJV, he said:
“...For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. [7] I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: [8] Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
This was the substance of Maria Dolores Lara/Falcon’s life and the hope of her death in faith.
