Harlingen:
Margo Jaenike, 60, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Valley Baptist Medical Center. She suffered numerous health complications during the past year that resulted in terminal illness. Her beautiful spirit in this life was a gift, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Margo was born on March 30, 1954 in Billings, Montana to David and Frances Isaacson. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Eastern Illinois University, where she also met the love of her life and husband of 34 years. Having a gift of helping people work through issues, she completed her Master’s degree in Social Work at Loyola University in Chicago, IL which launched her career working with troubled teens. She co-founded and directed Horizon Youth Service Center, a teen pregnancy prevention agency for the lower Rio Grande Valley.
Margo joins her mother, Frances, and brother-in-law, Kurt Jaenike in heaven and is survived by her husband, Fritz Jaenike of Harlingen, TX; her daughters Karli and Kayla Jaenike; her father David Isaacson and wife Wylene; her brothers Kirk Isaacson and wife Mary and Brad Isaacson and family; as well as her in-laws, Vaughn and Ruth Jaenike, Kristen Ballsrud, Kathy Labinski, Gretchen Norman and their families.
A memorial and celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2 PM. at Wesley United Methodist Church.
