Margaret Magdalena

Margaret “Nana” Magdalena was born on November 8, 1913 in Crystal, West Virginia.  She was known to Harlingen citizens as the friendly florist at Pletchers Flower Shop.  Margaret was the co-owner of Pletchers for many years.
Margaret and her husband were long-time member of Harlingen Elks Lodge. She was a proud member of the Harlingen Does for over 50 years and served as their president in 1975.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Magdalena; three sisters, Edith Landreth, Elsie Shumate and Alma Hawkins; and brothers, Eugene Lovern and Hartzell Carrico.
Margaret is survived by her son, Elwood Magdalena; her granddaughter Suzanne Magdalena; brothers, John Carrico, Jr. and Billy Carrico; numerous nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends. She will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 12, 2010, 10 a.m., at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria with Rev. David Mann officiating.
