María Elena Piñón

Mariá Elena Piñón, 76, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on the evening of June 16, 2022.

A lifelong resident of San Benito, she was born in San Benito, Texas on January 17, 1946.

A devoted wife of 58 years to Cirildo Piñón, she is the proud mother of six adult children, Cirildo Piñón, Jr., Maricella Gonzales (Johnny), Rolando Piñón (Sonia), Reymundo Piñón, Melissa Piñón (Araceli), and Melinda Piñón (Joey). She is also a proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Machuca and Margarita Garza Machuca; brothers and sister.

Elena’s family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home, Chapel A. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 on Thursday evening. Visitation will continue at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to St. Theresa Catholic Church for the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joey Tovar, Juan Manuel Gonzales, Aldo Piñón, Hilario Avila, Gerardo Rodriguez and Rolando Rodriguez.
