LOZANO, TX. – Manuela G. Ortega, born December 9, 1942, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. She was 72.
Her parents, Alfonso and Lucia Garza; sisters, Lucia Ramirez and Beatriz Govea; and brothers Jose Garza, Alejandro Garza, Dionicio Garza, Federico Garza, and Cirildo Garza, precede her in death.
Survivors include her sons Ernesto, Jr. (Monica M.) Ortega, Jose Ricardo (Carmen) Ortega, and Norberto Ortega; and daughters Leticia Ortega, Minerva (Teodoro, Jr.) Dela Rosa, Lucia Flores, and Erica (Omar) Cruz. Her seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive her.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 14, 2014, with a recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for seven o’clock Sunday evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2014 at ten o’clock in the morning in St. Vincent de Paul Mission in Lozano, Texas. Committal services will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
