Manuela Guevara, 82, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024 in Harlingen, Texas. She was born on March 22,1942 in San Benito, Texas to Arturo and Maxima Longoria.
Manuela dedicated 27 years of her life to the San Benito School District before retiring. She held steadfast her Catholic faith and was an active member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and mother of five children. They will cherish her memory and comforting words dearly. Manuela loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much who brought an immense amount of amusement into her life. She will forever be missed by her loved ones, but she will forever be in everyone’s heart.
She now reunites with her husband, Enrique Guevara; her parents, Arturo and Maxima Longoria; and her son, Ricardo Guevara in eternal peace.
Left to cherish Manuela’s memory are her children: Henry Guevara (Elena), Lucinda Guerrero (Ramon), Melinda Montelongo (Ruben†), and Belinda Naranjo (Carlos); her eleven grandchildren, Leeandra Guevara, Matthew Guevara, Amberly Guevara, Ricardo Guevara, Aaron Guevara, Trinity Guerrero, Ramon Guerrero Jr., Ruben Montelongo (Valerie), Victoria Montelongo, Tristan Naranjo, Alyanna Naranjo; and her two great grandchildren, Sophia Montelongo and Aaron Montelongo
The family expresses gratitude to the medical staff at Valley Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Kamesh Sivagnanam and staff for their care.
The Guevara family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito, Texas. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at St. Benedict Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Following the Mass, Manuela will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Henry Guevara, Ramon Guerrero, Carlos Naranjo, Tristan Naranjo, Matthew Guevara, Ramon Guerrero Jr., and Ruben Montelongo.
