San Benito, TX-Manuel G. Gomez, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emeterio Gomez and his brother, Leonel Gomez.
He is survived by his wife, Olga C. Gomez; his children, Alonzo (Lisette) Gomez, Maggie Acevedo, Melissa (Daniel) Negrete , Jennifer Acevedo, Eddie Acevedo, his mother, Sofia Gomez; his siblings, Anita (Robert) Longoria, Guadalupe (Mona) Gomez, Albert (Janie) Gomez, Silvia (Victor) Gonzalez, Rosalinda Gomez-Garcia, Jorge (Adriana) Gomez, Gustavo Gomez, Maricela (Jose Luis) Lozano, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-granddaughters and a host of other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at San Benito Funeral Home. Family will be greeting friends and family at 5 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Sam Arizpe officiating.  Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Rene Rivas III, Joe Alonzo, Tony Perez, Roy Barbosa, Jaime Gomez and Damian Rivas. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Acevedo, Jaime Perez, Justin Barbosa and Isaiah Barbosa.
