Lyle Owen Wolfgang, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Harlingen, TX.
Lyle was born on September 20, 1926 in Flint, MI to Murl Wolfgang and Minnie Holsinger.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a Seaman 2nd Class where he served on the USS Louisville in the Pacific during World War II. Later in life he was an Honorary graduate of Grand Blanc High School.
Lyle lived and worked in the Flint, MI area where he began a career with the Buick Motor Division from 1948 to 1982.  He spent most of his time as a Final Car Auditor in the Quality Department. He was a member of the UAW Local 599 and later in Harlingen, TX a volunteer courtesy driver at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Upon retirement he and his wife moved to their cottage on Duck Lake in Grawn, MI and later to Harlingen, TX.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth of Harlingen, TX; son, Gerald (Cheryl) of Burton, MI; grandsons, Michael (Sandra) Moulton of Flint, MI; Devon (Deirdre) Wolfgang of Dublin, Ireland; Matthew (Lea) Moulton of Waukesha, WI; granddaughter, Kimberly Wolfgang of Fenton, MI; sister, Ernestine (Carl) Hempel of Grand Blanc, MI; four great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ralph and Richard (Helen) Misener both of Florida and Don and Terry(Martha) Misener both of Michigan; sisters-in-law, Leone and Beverly Wolfgang both of Michigan and many nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind great friends, Dave (Dona) Meinhart, Larry (Bev) Hinsa, Bill (Jean) Shedler, Archie (Gloria) Ostberg, Phyllis Summerfelt, Andy Ferrero and many others at Dixieland Mobile Park.  The family would also like to thank the nursing staff of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors and I.C.U. Dept at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael, his parents and brothers, Clifford, Raymond, Dean and Barry.
Lyle was cremated as per his wishes and no services are scheduled at this time.
