San Benito, TX – Lupita Conde González, 68, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 16, 2014. She was born on October 23, 1945, in San Benito, Texas, to Lupe H. and Maria G. Conde.
Lupita worked for the Texas Department of Human Services for 32 years, retiring in 1999 to enjoy her golden years alongside her husband and love of her life, Jonathan. She enjoyed photography, reading, and working on crossword puzzles. Her radiant smile will be forever cherished by all whose lives she was a part of.
Lupita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jonathan G. González; her grandson, Joshua Aaron González; her mother, Maria G. Conde; and her sister, Norma C. Anzaldua.
She is survived by her son, Joey (Mari) González of Schertz, TX; son, Jonathan (Iris) González of San Benito, TX; daughter, Veronica González of Schertz, TX; grandchildren: Nathaniel Aguirre – whom she raised as a son, Moses González, Iris Nikole González, Elijah González, Gabby González, Joseph González; and fur grandbaby, Phoebe.
She is also survived by her father, Lupe H. Conde; sister, Alicia (Guillermo) Salinas; brother, Johnny (Tyra) Conde; brothers-in-law, Alonzo Anzaldua, Homero (Clelia) González, Gustavo (Frances) González, Sr.; and sisters-in-law Arminda (Pedro, Sr.) Ortegón, Reyes González, and Lila González. Numerous nieces and nephews will dearly miss their “Tía Lupita.”
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, with a memorial service to be celebrated at 7 p.m., officiated by Rev. F. Feliberto Pereira.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at San Benito Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Aguirre, Moses González, Elijah González, Isabel González, Jessica Conde, Gustavo González, Jr., Dante Zuniga, and J.R. Rodriguez.
