Lucinda Salazar Dominguez, affectionately known as Lucy, passed away on January 29, 2024, in Houston, Texas. She was born on March 16, 1970, in her beloved hometown of Brownsville, Texas. Lucy's vibrant personality left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered throughout her life.
Lucy dedicated 28 years of her career to Target, where she served as a District Manager. Her commitment and passion for her work were evident in the strong bonds she formed with her colleagues and the positive impact she made in the company. Lucy cherished her Target family and found fulfillment in every moment spent at work.
Beyond her professional life, Lucy held a deep spiritual connection as a devoted member of Holy Family Church in Brownsville. She found solace and strength in her faith and shared this love with others.
Family was at the heart of Lucy's life. She treasured spending time with her loved ones and created lasting memories during their travels together. Her adored husband, Gary E. Dominguez, stood by her side, providing unwavering support and love throughout their journey together.
Lucy was preceded in death by her grandmother Irene Pizana and beloved aunt Graciela Gracia. She was also reunited with Bethany Leanne Cavazos, her cherished niece who brought immense joy to Lucy's life. Additionally, Lucy shared an unbreakable bond with her French bulldog Cooper, who brought constant companionship and happiness to her days.
Lucy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for those she held dear. She is survived by her husband, Gary Edward Dominguez, her father Francisco Salazar and mother Ninfa Pizana Salazar. Her nieces and nephews whom she adored include Daniel Cavazos, Christian Cavazos, Emma and Sofia Pezeshki, and Javier, Luis and Katherine Vivero. Lucy was also a beloved sister to Humberto Salazar, Hugo Salazar, Maricela (David) Pezeshki, and Maribel (Javier) Vivero.
In addition to her immediate family, Lucy is survived by her cherished in-laws Celestino and Dolores Dominguez. Her sisters-in-law, Amy Dominguez and Brenda Cavazos held special places in Lucy's heart. Finally, she was deeply loved by her Rhodesian Ridgeback companion, Dakota.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 7th, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brownsville, Texas. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Humberto Salazar, Hugo Salazar, Javier A. Vivero, Daniel B. Cavazos, Ivan Garcia, and Rudy Reyes. Honorary pallbearers are: Christian T. Cavazos, and Luis Vivero.
Lucinda Salazar Dominguez will be remembered for her infectious smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a void that can never be filled. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
