Louis Martin Christensen, born October 17, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away in Harlingen, Texas March 14, 2008.
He was predeceased by his parents Louis Martin Christensen, Sr., and Juliet Thiele Christensen, and a son, Louis Martin Christensen, III. Lou Christensen attended The University of Toledo, where he met his wife of 51 years; he was in the HVAC industry and retired as National Sales Manager for Carrier Air Conditioning. He was a Sunday school teacher, city and church council member, and lived in Columbus, Ohio; Dallas and Houston, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Atlanta, Georgia. Lou loved to travel- especially to St. Maarten-golf, gin rummy and a good joke.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Christensen, of Rancho Viejo, Texas; his daughter Debi Christensen and her husband Stephen Howell of Wimberley, Texas, and their children Michael Howell and Meghann Howell; his son Jon Christensen and his wife Judi Christensen of Harlingen, Texas, and their son Shayne Christensen, step-children, Keri Bruegger(Chris) & James Fullingim(Lisa); and his son Erik Christensen of Wimberley, Texas, and his daughter Siobhan Christensen.
There will be a memorial service Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen, with a reception immediately following in the Parish Hall.
His honorary pallbearers are Michael Howell, Shayne Christensen, Bill Way, Mark Vincent, Dr. Thomas Clark and Meghann Howell.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Grace Lutheran Memorial Fund, 1001 E. Jackson, Harlingen, TX. 78550 ot the Shriner's Childrens Hospital.
