Harlingen:
Louella Perdue Rupert, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Angel Care Assisted Living in Harlingen.
Louella was born January 1st, 1927 in Donaldsonville, GA. She grew up in Texas, graduated from Edinburg High School and attended Business School in Springfield, MO, before returning back to Edinburg.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jim Rupert; sister, Betty Young of Ocala, FL; son, Steve Rupert of Harlingen; daughter, Nancy Lasher and her husband, Howard of Spring, TX; son, Tommy Rupert and his wife, Christine of McAllen. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Chris Rupert and his wife, Sarah of League City, TX; Jeff Rupert of Galveston, TX; Jason Rupert and his wife, Britney of League City, TX; Amanda Rupert of Houston, TX; Brian Rupert of Oahu, HI; Tracy Guerra and her husband, Chuck of Corpus Christi, TX.; Janet Seidensticker and her husband, Philip of Comfort, TX: ten great-grandchildren, Dylan, Brayden, Karli, Christian, Brooke, Luke, Kourtney, Madisen, C.J., and Presley.
Louella was a faithful member of the Mormon Church, touching many lives with her compassion and service to the Lord. Lou’s greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren. She so enjoyed the many nights she spent dancing to country music with her husband and treasured the many friends they made while teaching “Line Dancing”. Lou and Jim worked side by side at Rupert Optical for 30 years. Her life was not all work as she and Jim were fortunate to travel to many exciting cities in the United States and Europe.
Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 9, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2320 Haine Dr., Harlingen, 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2011. Entombment services will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Chris Rupert, Jeff Rupert, Jason Rupert and Philip Seidensticker.
