Loretta Janet Jones Daniell, 82, passed away September 7, 2015 at home.
Loretta was born August 7, 1933 in Hillsboro, TX to Virgil Buck Jones and Amanda Lydia Merkovd Jones. She graduated from Corpus Christi High and married Robert Leon Daniell. Loretta worked for her husband (but she was the boss!) LOL. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Social Soroity and St. Albans Episcopal Church. Loretta was a great cook and enjoyed fishing and tennis.
She is survived by her husband, Leon Daniell of Harlingen; daughter Becky (Dan) Matthews of Wimberley; son, Ted (Melissa) Daniell of Harlingen; grandchildren, Amanda Matthews of Austin, Amy (Adam) Mitchell of Marble Falls, Carl (Stacey) Shepard of Kona, Hawaii, Danny (Eryn) Matthews of Odessa, Jessica (Tim) Hruska of Harlingen, Brian Shepard of Costa Rica, Jeff (Lera) Matthews of Round Rock and Jake (Nikki) Daniell of Harlingen; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Hruska of Caldwell, Kendall Hruska of Caldwell, Kayla Matthews of Austin, Morgan Hruska of Harlingen, DannyRan Matthews of Odessa, Noah Shepard of Kona, Hawaii and Emma Caroline Matthews of Odessa.
Loretta was preceded in death by Virgil and Amanda Jones; in-laws, Carl and Mary Lou Daniell; brother, Milton Jones; and cousin, Dewey Yeager.
Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Harlingen or a charity of choice.
We want to acknowledge our Angel, Lucina for the wonderful care she gave our mother for the last 20 years. She is a blessing to us.
