Lorene K. Atchison, 84, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 in League City, Texas.
Lorene was born May 25, 1923 in Houston, Texas to August and Frances Kolbow. She was a 1940 graduated of San Jacinto High School and then attended Houston Business College. In 1946 Lorene moved to Harlingen, where she was member of Women’s Golf Association, Harlingen Country Club, Contemporary Study Club, and First Baptist Church of Harlingen. She was also a Valley Baptist Medical Center volunteer. Lorene enjoyed golf, fishing, needle work, and bear collecting.
She is survived by her husband of John C. Atchison; children, Rick (Pat) Atchison, David Atchison and Virginia Westbrook; grandchildren, John L. (Stacy) Atchison, Carol Hollinger and Laura Westbrook; great granddaughter, Zoe Hollinger; and nephew, Ted Ryan.
Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 15, 2007, 10 a.m., at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, TX with Rev. Wade Hood officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
