Lino P. Juarez (84), passed away on Wednesday, the 20th of July 2016. Born in the city of Rio Hondo on the 23th of September 1931, to his parents Benito A. Juarez & Margarita Garcia Pena.
Lino graduated from Rio Hondo High School in 1952. He served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War in 1953. He served in the 7th Infantry Division and was a survivor of the last engagement at Pork Chop Hill.
Lino served as a Sunday School Superintendent at Templo Emmanuel Church in Brownsville, Texas, where he passionately shared his faith in Jesus Christ with the youth group and young adults. He also founded the gospel group, Spirit of Life in 1973.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and loving wife Dora Juarez.
Survivors include his loving children Roel L. (Minerva) Juarez, Orlando (Kim) Juarez, Yvonne (Jesus) Quezada, Daniel (Queta) Juarez, and Samuel B. (Melissa) Juarez. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Honored to be pallbearers are his grandsons, Joshua Juarez, Dr. Michael Quezada, MD, Daniel Juarez, Jr., Samuel Aaron Juarez, Joseph Quezada, Matthew Juarez, Samuel Justin Juarez and Bryan Juarez. Honorary pallbearers will be Alfredo Lopez, Jose de la Pena, Calixto Garza, Jr., Abel Gonzales, Sr., Roy Weaver and Fred McCreary.
Visitation will be held Saturday, the 23rd of July 2016, beginning at 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Saturday within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel, 1400 West Highway 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, the 24th of July 2016 within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
