Linda Jean Rhyner, 70, passed away October 5, 2015 at her residence after battling cancer.
Linda was born September 16, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Elsie Johnson.  She attended Business College and married Johnny Jacob Rhyner.  Linda dedicated 33 years as Post Mistress to the U.S.P.S. in Lozano where she treated each customer like they were her own family.  She was of the Lutheran faith.  She enjoyed mowing; this was her idea of stress relief.
Linda is survived by her husband, Johnny Jacob Rhyner; children Buck (Stephanie) Rhyner, Wendy (Cain) Wilson and Ryan (Jennifer) Rhyner; grandchildren Ty and Jake Rhyner, Helen and Carolyn Wilson and Alexis Rhyner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Elsie Johnson and grandparents Oscar and Huld Hermanson.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 10:00 am, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Dr. Harlingen, Texas 78550 with Dr. Bob Cole officiating.  Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Buck, Ryan, Ty and Jake Rhyner, Billie D. Simpson and Cain Wilson.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Billie Mack Simpson.
The family would like to thank MD Anderson, Harlingen Medical Center, MacPherson’s, United Home Health, Gentiva Hospice and San Benito Medical Associates (Lauren Villarreal, ANP) for their care.  A special thank you to Dr. Jairo Rodriguez for his personal attention and availability during the past few weeks.
