Linda Lou (Jones) (Hollis) Coons, 66, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.
Linda was born July 24, 1946 in Springfield, IL to William and Ethel Jones. She attended school in Springfield and lived in Chicago for a few years.
Linda was a longtime employee with the Horace Mann Insurance Co. in Springfield, IL where she was in charge of customer service. She and her husband, Gordon, were married in 2005 and traveled around the world and the country for several years before settling in Port Isabel, TX.
She is survived by her mother, Esther Taapken Jones of Havana, IL; husband, Gordon Coons of Port Isabel, TX; sons, Michael Hollis of Springfield, IL, Scott Hollis of Pleasant Plains, IL and daughter, Trisha Ramshaw of Petersburg, IL; 2 step children, 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and daughter, Laurie Hollis.
No formal services will be held and Linda was cremated as per her wishes.
