Leora Taubert

Rio Hondo:
Leora Taubert went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 25th at the age of 92.  She was born May 8, 1921 in Mykawa, TX to James Asa and Emma Swanner Arnett.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years Ernest Levi Taubert, son Ernest Lee Taubert,  daughter in law Georgia Ann Taubert, sisters Mae Arnett, Ann Newell, Nell Baugh, Alma Alexander and brother Jack Arnett.
Left to cherish her memory are sons J. B. (Sue Ann), of Rio Hondo, Gene (Joyce), of Harlingen and Dennis (Donna) of Rio Hondo, grandchildren Connally Allen (Chris), Kyle Taubert (Kerrie), Brady Taubert (Karen), Willis Taubert (Lela), Darla Taubert, Cynthia Warner (Lester), Kenneth Wolcott (Linda), Mark Wolcott and fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leora graduated from Rio Hondo High School and married the love of her life June 11, 1938.  Leora and Ernest were involved in farming and ranching in San Benito and Rio Hondo until his Ernest's retirement.  Leora's full time job was taking care of her husband, their four "Very Active" sons and being involved in their many activities. Upon Ernest's retirement, they spent many happy days traveling the United States and enjoying their grandchildren. Leora was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Leora was a faithful Christian who loved her Lord, being  Baptist her entire life, most recently a member of the First Baptist Church, Harlingen.
Visitation will be Monday, January 27 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home from 1-9 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m.
Graveside Services only will be Tuesday, January 28, 10 a.m., Mont Meta Memorial Park, San Benito, with Pastor Wade Hood Officiating.  Pallbearers will be J.B. Taubert, Gene Taubert, Dennis Taubert, Kyle Taubert, Brady Taubert, and Willis Taubert.
Memorial Contributions may be made to her favorite missions, Lottie Moon International Missions, Annie Armstrong Missions or the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Valley Baptist Family Practice Residency Clinic and the staff of Golden Palms Retirement Center for their loving care of Leora.
