San Benito, TX: Leonel M. Gonzalez, 58, of San Benito, TX passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
He was employed for 30 years with Rio Roofing Inc.; he was a hard worker, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is preceded in death by his father, Asdrubal Gonzalez; and his cousin, Rosita Chavez.
Leonel is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lilia E. Gonzalez; his children, Eusebia (Pedro) Zavala, Margarita (Francisco) Garcia, Minerva Gonzalez (Juan Medrano), Leonel (Lizette) Gonzalez, Jr., Rosario Gonzalez (Angel Trevino), Lilia (Leonard) Machuca, and Destanie N. Medrano; along with his 10 grandchildren, Johnny Medrano, Frankie Garcia, Angel Medrano, Leonard Machuca, Fabian Garcia, Danny Medrano, Angel Trevino, Jr., Andrew Medrano, Leandra Machuca, and Allen A. Trevino; his mother, Ester Maldonado Gonzalez; his brothers and sisters, Delfina Gonzalez, Saul Gonzalez, Victoria Huerta, Yolanda Tamez, Ester Gomez, Anibal Gonzalez, and Janie Farias; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at San Benito Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Pedro Zavala, Francisco J. Garcia, Juan M. Medrano, Angel Trevino, and Leonard Machuca; honorary pallbearer will be Leonel Gonzalez, Jr.
