Leo F. Huron

December 26, 1917 — April 21, 2008

Colorado City/Rancho Viejo, TX:
Leo Frank U. Huron, 90, entered the glory of his eternal life on Monday, April 21, 2008.
A native of Jackson, Michigan and former lifetime resident of Rancho Viejo, Texas, “Papa Leo” as he was known by his cherished grandchildren proudly served his country during WW II as a machinist stationed at Pearl Harbor aboard the U.S.S. Maryland.  Papa Leo was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors and a recipient of many awards and medals during his two terms of naval service.
After the war, Leo returned home and along with Grandma Helen entered the Hotel/Motel Business.  Together, through hard work they developed the H & H Corporation and for over 40 years became the owners of several properties and investments.
Aside from his war and business experience, he will always be fondly remembered for the love, devotion, and dedication he had for “Grandma Helen”, his wife of 52 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Genevive Urynowicz, his brothers, sisters, and his beloved wife Helen Romanowski Huron.
Left behind to eternally treasure his memory are his sons, Jeffery (Norma) Huron and Gregory Huron; his grandchildren, Jennifer Huron (Greg) Gaona, George Patrick Huron and Nicholas Walter Huron; his great-grandchildren Destyne, Desiree, and “Little Greg”; and his sisters, Betty Orlowski and Margaret Richardson along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral procession will depart Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 1:15 p.m. for a 2 p.m. Funeral Mass at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church in Olmito, Texas with Father Hector Cruz as celebrant. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
