Landon Farrell Lucas, 80, died Saturday morning December 1, 2007.
Farrell was born January 23, 1927 in Harold, TX to Henry and Sophie Lucas. He married Tommie Lee Livingston on April 16, 1945 and they moved to Harlingen in 1949. He retired from Valley Co-op Mill in 1996 after 43 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Tommie Lee Livingston Lucas on November 22, 1999; parents, Henry and Sophie Lucas; brothers, Elwood, Jerry, James, and Jack Lucas; and his sister, Beverly Beasley.
Farrell is survived by his daughter, Barbara Joyce Lucas of Harlingen; son David Lee Lucas of Jonestown, TX; sisters Jeanette Orman, Marry (Nelson) Warden, Francille (Glenn) Aderholt all of Vernon, TX; grandchildren, JoBeth (Troy) Bauer of Harlingen, James (Jana) Lucas of San Antonio, TX, Katie, Jon and Gabirel Lucas all of Jonestown, TX; great grandchildren, Amber and Colton Lucas of San Antonio, TX, Shelby and Landon Bauer of Harlingen, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends gratitude to the compassionate nurses and aides at Sandi Jo Funk Hospice, with a special thanks to Sharon Booth and Sylvia Gonzales.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 3rd from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 4th at 10 a.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park Mausoleum with Ben Arellano officiating.
