Lance Durand Folliott, 48, passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 at his residence.
Lance was born December 7, 1960 in Seattle, WA to Jack Alfred and Nina Ward Folliott.  In September 1967, Lance moved to Brownsville and attended grade school there. He graduated from the University Preparatory School in Harlingen in 1978.  Then he attended Southwest Texas State in San Marcos and graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont.  Lance was employed as a chef in the restaurant industry for many years. His recent employment was with the Department of Homeland Security in Bayview.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in San Benito, Texas.  Lance enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack A Folliott, Jr. on June 23, 2002 and his mother, Nina Ward Folliott on March 1, 2009.
Lance is survived by his father, Jack Alfred Folliott, Aunt Melissa Bell, Uncle Frank A. Bell, Jr., and several cousins.
Visitation hours will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Graveside services only will be held at Mont Meta Mausoleum Chapel on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Danny Longoria officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Henry Folliott IV, Hal Helmstetler, Ray Garza, Rufus Ransome, Dick Welch, Dr. Ford Lockett, Dr. JB Coulter, Dr. Ralph Hausman, Fred Lister and Frank Bell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Aransas County, 1308 Myrtle St. Rockport, TX 78382, (361) 729-8186 or a charity of choice.
