Kenneth B. Cole

SAN BENITO:
Kenneth B. Cole, 70, of San Benito, Texas died Friday, August 31, 2007 after a brief illness.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 12 – 9 p.m. with family greeting guest from 6 – 8 p.m.  Service will be at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas on Thursday at 2 p.m. His body will be cremated.
Kenny is survived by his wife Sharon of 38 years and faithful companion Tricksey, three daughters Robin Rendon (Birmingham, AL), Tracy Buitron and husband Pete, Dawn Haak and husband Glen, all of Angleton, Texas, and step-son Mark Merritt.  Six grandchildren – Tony Rendon, Kat (Kendall) Walters, Travis and Derek Buitron, Justin Williams, and Donna (Jose) Garcia.  5 great grandchildren – Victoria, Marissa, K.C., and Kyla and Skylar.  Brothers William Cole (Rosie), Gary Knoke (Sharon) all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and sister Patricia Rizzio (Joe) of Farmington, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beverly and daughter Cindy Lee Cole.
Kenny was born December 17, 1936 in Hopkinton, Iowa to Boyce and Stella (Appleby) Cole.  He served in the military for 2 years. He married Sharon Wolfe on December 6, 1968.  Together they owned and operated Oelwein Specialty Co.  Kenny was an avid race car fan of local dirt track and NASCAR Racing.  He enjoyed fishing, visiting with family, friends and selling his customers more than they anticipated.
Kenny will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends and all customers he served.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans and the Shriners.
