Kathy passed away January 12 after a recurrence of cancer.
A funeral in her honor will be held Sunday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Beth Israel in Harlingen, with a burial service to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Kathy had a devotion to dogs and to animal welfare. She requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Palm Valley Animal Center, 2501 West Trenton Road, Edinburg, Texas 78539, and directed to its new Laurie P. Andrews PAWS Center, a “no-kill” shelter.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Pablo Noriega, her father, Rollins Koppel, her siblings, Nathan Koppel (and his wife, Jennifer) and Annie Van Hanken (and her husband, Jeff), and her five nieces and nephews: Lucia Ann, Miller, Max, Asher, and Aliza.
