June Ella Risher was born June 16, 1934 in Borger, Texas to the late Merrill and Ella Patton Risher. She was the youngest of seven children. June passed away July 12, 2022 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. Thomas Read Williams, Jr., Max Joseph Fleischhacker, and son, Thomas Read Williams, III.
June graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Education where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority and a Sweetheart of ROTC. She was a member of the Junior League of America. While living in Panama, June was president of the Canal Zone Medical Wives - the first dentist’s wife to hold that position. She was also president of the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical Wives Society of San Antonio. June served as convention hostess for the city of San Antonio Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, plus many other volunteer activities too numerous to mention. She taught school, both English and Speech for ten years. She loved her family, traveling and celebrating life. June was baptized May 29, 1966 at First Baptist Church of Harlingen.
June is survived by daughter, Risa Patton Hensley; grandchildren, Savanah Williams, Ciara and Logan, William and Rachel Hensley; great grandchild, Allison Hensley; sister-in-law, Patricia Williams Speer; nieces, Judge Molly Speer Wood, Janette Park Whitsett, Denise Taylor, Devi Town, Meryl Hart, Rene Risher-Kelly; nephews, John Michael Speer, David Merrill Park, Gary Morris, Dex Risher, Bobby Tex Risher, Rod Lee Taylor, Ronald Taylor, Monte Hart, and Eric Risher.
June’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A chapel service will follow at 10:00 a.m. June will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
